people constantly brushing off art, and fine art students. as if it is a joke, a breeze, a total just waste of time. people seem to think to do well in a art program you can slack and just produce art. make a nice painting, make a nice drawing.

NO. so much more than that. i would like to see all of you walk into my class and do what we do. it’s not just simply making art, it’s not just simply making a pretty picture. there is thought, purpose, hard work, devotion, time and legit effort that needs to be put in. displaying our work is not always just taping it up on the wall and saying “tada, art!” sometimes we gotta think of composure, symmetry, colour, balance, and if it is visually appealing and effective.

what i do is not easy, it’s hard work. and it’s really hard to produce good art work when you have no inspiration at the time. but you are forced to anyways. searching your brain just to discover some sort of idea you can work with.

sure i am not in lectures all the time, i don’t write a bazillion essays, reports, tests and exams. but i do write exams, i do write essays, i do write tests and i do sit through lectures. and on top of that i make art. yeah it’s fun some days but it’s also hard work and it’s fucking exhausting. 

just for once i would like for people to see it’s not as easy as it seems and to not under appreciate the talents needed to succeeed in art.

so go fuck yourself. what i do is important, it is vital and it is not easy.
